Designed for Hard Work

Farm and machinery sheds need to be practical above everything else. Wide doors for large equipment, clear spans with no columns in the way, and solid construction that handles decades of rural use without complaint.

Iron Country farm sheds are engineered to your site's wind region, soil conditions and council requirements. Cold-formed steel portal framing handles the majority of rural applications. Hot-rolled UB framing and hybrid systems are available for very wide spans or heavy-load requirements.

BlueScope high-tensile steel and COLORBOND® cladding products are available throughout the range. All sheds include site-specific engineering documentation before manufacture.

Frequently Asked Questions

How wide can a farm shed be?

Clear spans are available to substantial widths depending on the framing system used. Cold-formed systems suit many rural applications. For very wide spans, hot-rolled or hybrid framing may be recommended. Tell us your requirements and we'll advise what's possible.

Do farm sheds need council approval?

In most rural areas, farm sheds require a building permit or planning approval. Requirements vary by council, location, zone and intended use. Check with your local council before proceeding.

Can I design a machinery shed with a lean-to?

Yes — lean-tos can be attached to one or both sides. Lean-tos add covered storage for smaller equipment, chemicals or general farm use without adding to the main span.

What door sizes are available?

Large sliding doors and roller doors are available to suit tractors, headers and other machinery. Specify your clearance requirements in the design.

Can the shed be partly open?

Open-sided or partially enclosed bays are possible in the design. These are common for hay and fodder storage where ventilation is important.
